How do you backtest an option chain strategy?
An option chain backtest replays the option chain of a past trading session so you can see open interest, OI change, PCR and support and resistance exactly as they stood at each minute, and check how a setup would have played out before using it live.

Why backtest with option chain data?
Price-only backtests miss what option writers were doing. Replaying the chain shows whether support and resistance from OI held, when they shifted, and how PCR moved before a breakout or reversal.
How does the AOC Back Tester work?
Pick a symbol, expiry, date and time, and AOC loads the option chain as it was at that moment. Step forward minute by minute, open the split chart, and see the same highlights, PCR and support and resistance lines as the live chain.
The Back Tester covers NSE index options such as NIFTY and BANKNIFTY, BSE SENSEX and F&O stocks.
What should you test?
Common checks are: does the market respect the highest put OI strike as support, how price reacts when resistance shifts lower, and whether PCR extremes mark turning points on expiry days.
