AI Stocks: Big Bull and Big Bear F&O Stocks
AI Stocks is the AOC screener where AOC AI flags F&O stocks as Big Bull or Big Bear when open interest stuck at in-the-money strikes outweighs the biggest OI near the current price. Think of it as a list of stocks where option writers on one side look trapped. Whether there is a trade is still your call, after reading the chain.

How does AOC AI pick Big Bull and Big Bear stocks?
For each F&O stock, AOC finds the biggest call OI among strikes near and above the price, the zone where call writers normally sit. If a call strike well in the money, further below, holds clearly more OI than that, the stock is flagged Big Bull. Heavy call OI that price has already run past suggests call writers are on the wrong side.
Big Bear is the mirror: a put strike well in the money, above the price, holds clearly more OI than the biggest put OI near and below the price.
Example: a stock trades at 2,560 with 20 point strikes. The biggest call OI near and above the price is 8 lakh at 2,600. If the 2,480 CE, deep in the money, still carries a much bigger pile of 12 lakh OI, the stock shows up as Big Bull.
When do signals appear?
- Only between 9:30 and 14:30 IST. The opening 15 minutes and the last hour are skipped.
- A stock is normally flagged at most once per side per day.
- The page refreshes every 10 seconds while it is visible, so new flags show up within seconds of being recorded.
How do I read the AI Stocks page?
The two columns are Big Bull and Big Bear, with counts in the tab labels. Each row has the stock name, the signal time in IST and how long ago it was, the day's price and change, and two buttons: Live opens the stock's live option chain and Historical opens the Back Tester at the signal time. Use Search symbol to filter and the Date picker to look at earlier sessions.

- 1Big Bull column with its count
- 2Big Bear column with its count
- 3Search symbol to filter
- 4Date picker for past sessions
- 5Live opens the option chain
How do I use AI Stocks to shortlist a trade?
In the popup view (turn on Screener quick access under Settings, Option chain), the AI switch in the popup header flips the chain to AOC's AI mode data for that stock.
- Open AI Stocks from the Stock Screener menu.
- Check the Big Bull and Big Bear counts. A lopsided day (say 12 Big Bull, 2 Big Bear) tells you something about the broader mood too.
- Tap Live on a stock. On the chain, find the in-the-money strike carrying the heavy OI and see whether that OI is now falling (writers covering) or still sitting there.
- Check where support and resistance sit and whether the move has room. A stock already up 4% may have little left.
- If it still makes sense, plan entry, stop and size yourself and place the order with your broker.
What are the limits of AI Stocks?
AI Stocks is analysis, not a buy or sell recommendation. It needs AOC Pro; see pricing.
- It is a rule on open interest, read once. It does not predict where the price will close.
- Old ITM OI can also be hedges or spreads, not trapped writers. The chain is where you check.
- No signals before 9:30 or after 14:30 IST, by design.
- No entry, target or stop-loss, and no record of whether the signal worked.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Big Bull stock in AOC?
A Big Bull stock is an F&O stock where a call strike well in the money, below the current price, holds clearly more OI than the biggest call OI near and above the price. It suggests call writers are caught on the wrong side as the stock has moved up.
What is a Big Bear stock?
The opposite: a put strike well in the money, above the price, holds clearly more OI than the biggest put OI near and below the price, which suggests put writers are trapped as the stock has fallen.
What time does AI Stocks give signals?
Only between 9:30 and 14:30 IST on trading days. Each stock is normally flagged at most once per side per day.
Can I get AI Stocks alerts on my phone?
Yes. Turn on push alerts in Settings, Notifications, and select AI stocks. You get an alert when a stock is newly flagged.
